Wing Nut,  by Mary Jane Auch, is about a boy named Grady and his mom Lila.  They are escaping from Pennsylvania to New York when their car breaks down.  A tow man tows their car to be repaired.  While the car is being repaired, they work for an elderly man named Charlie Fernwald.   Charlie loves birds, mostly martins.  Does Grady mess up Charlie’s birds or does he help save them?  Read the Wing Nut  and you will find out.

	This book is about Lila and Grady.  Grady lost his dad in a car accident and had to live without him.  On their way to Pennsylvania their car broke down.  They had to live and work for this elderly man named Charlie.  At first, Charlie doesn’t want Lila to cook for him, but changes his mind after a while.
	Charlie liked to watch purple martins.  Charlie would trap all the other birds that would harm the martins.  Grady would let the other birds loose without Charlie knowing.  This caused lots of trouble.  If you want to find out what happens to Charlie, Grady and the birds, you need to read this book.
