or public library participates in the Golden Sower Award Program.
This site will provide the information needed to be able to guide
readers' participation.
INVOLVE support for your program:
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT (Library Directors/Supervisors or Principals) is important for the children, teachers, and library professionals in their participation in the Golden Sower Award Program.
LIBRARY PROFESSIONALS can support
the Golden Sower program with library-centered activities
and by aiding participating teachers in their efforts.
PARTICIPATING
TEACHERS can devote a reasonable amount of time
to classroom activities which will promote the program knowing Golden Sower Award aligns with Nebraska Academic Standards.
PARENTS
can access Golden Sower Award NOMINEE LISTS and encourage their children's participation. Home School students can participate through their local public library.
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED
ESTABLISH YOUR PROGRAM
PROVIDE
multiple titles from the current Primary, Intermediate, or Young Adult
NOMINEE LIST for your student(s) to read and review.
READ titles from the
current list of nominees to your patrons or students. Students
must have read or heard at least four nominated titles from a category to be eligible to vote.
DESIGN activities to
reinforce reading. Golden Sower Award manuals provide activities
and reproducible materials designed for storytime or classroom
use, and can be purchased from the GOLDEN SOWER AWARD STORE .
SHARE Golden Sower Award
ideas and information by joining the Golden Sower Award LISTSERV.
INVOLVE your students by submitting art work, writings, and/or web pages to be posted on GSA website. For more

NOMINATE titles your readers believe should be considered as Golden Sower Award Nominees. Titles must meet the CRITERIA for consideration.
SUBMIT VOTES
OBTAIN VOTING INFORMATION.
DEADLINE for submitting votes is April 15th.
REVIEW the titles with your student(s) before voting.
REVIEW voting guidelines with students:
Students
must have read or heard at least four nominated titles
to be eligible to vote.
Readers may not vote for books they have not read or heard.
Each reader may vote for only one (1) book. Each reader may vote from only one (1) list.
REMEMBER: This is a
CHILDREN'S CHOICE AWARD, only Nebraska CHILDREN may vote!
