Thanks to their father's interest in the playwright, William Shakespeare, sisters, Hero and Beatrice Netherfield are named after Shakespearian characters.

When they move into the "old Murphy House," they discover that it may hold a valuable diamond.

With the help of their neighbor, Mrs. Roth and Danny, a popular 8th grade boy, the girls begin an adventure trying to find out where the diamond is.

Along the way, they discover some connections, and even use some Shakespeare.
