Tomorrow, the River is a book I won't soon forget. Fourteen-year-old Megan travels by train in 1896 to visit and help her sister as she travels up the Mississippi River.
Once aboard the riverboat, Megan has one unpredictable adventure after the other, including being robbed, playing a part in a crime without knowing it, working a man's job, and even arresting a criminal she thought was her friend.
One of my favorite things about the book were the newspaper articles at the end of some chapters, which made me a bit anxious and gave me something to look forward to. The story was a very compelling one that I can strongly recommend. |
